Foeniculum Vulgare is often used for colic, wind, irritable bowel, spleen, liver, suppressing appetite, improving digestive system. Apium graveolens contains furocoumarins which are used for its carminative, stomachic properties. The plant of Cichorium endivia is used in the treatment of bilious complaints. It is a very beneficial tonic to the liver and digestive system. The root is bitter, demulcent and tonic. It has been used in the treatment of dyspepsia and fevers. Cassia fistula is used as a laxative, while the bark can be used to treat skin infections. The roots, leaves and seeds of Astercantha longifolia have been used in Indian systems of medicine as diuretics and also employed to cure jaundice, dropsy, rheumatism and diseases of the urinogenital tract. Leaves of Trianthema portulacastrum used in oedema and dropsy. A decoction of the herb is used as an antidote to alcoholic poison. Ethanolic extract of the aerial parts exhibited hepatoprotective activity in CCl4-induced intoxication in rats. The acetone-insoluble fraction of the extract is responsible for the activity. Andrographis has a long historical record as an ancient medicinal herb, used for centuries in Herbal and traditional Chinese medicine. Andrographis is believed to be effective in the treatment of liver and gall bladder conditions such as viral hepatitis, jaundice, drug-induced liver damage, liver congestion and sluggish liver. The plant has antioxidant properperties that may aid in sugar regulation in people with diabetes by reducing blood sugar concentration. Terminalia has Hepatoprotective, cholesterol-reducing, and antioxidant effects. Artemisia absinthium is used for various digestion problems such as gall bladder disease, loss of appetite, upset stomach and intestinal spasms. Worm wood is also used to treat fever, liver disease.
Some people apply worm wood directly to the skin for healing wounds and insect bites. Leonurus cardiaca is used for heart conditions, including heart failure, irregular heartbeat, fast heartbeat, and heart symptoms due to anxiety.
